30 Day Shred

Official Day 1

It was not all that bad, meaning that I was able to finish it. I am a total weakling though, but I am excited to see how I can improve. Woke up at 5 am, tried to get the baby back to sleep, helped my husband get my 11 year old going for school and then at 6:30 started “The Shred”.

I feel great in terms of energy. My arms hurt a bit and I am a bit concerned at how my knees feel while doing some of the bending movements. I am pretty sure that this is due to the fact that I did not exercise *at all*, even regular neighborhood walks, during this last pregnancy. My body took a huge beating. Ugh.

Now, I am going to plan out my eating for the day and get started. Lots to do. My biggest challenge? Taking my 2 year old to get his hair cut!!! :)

I Refuse….

to stuff food randomly down my throat today.

I will…

think about my hunger level before I eat and, and, AND….

I will make healthy food choices.

Oh, and that pesky drinking of water bit. *snark*

Pregnancy Woes

So…

I became pregnant again and now I have three monkey children. I pretty much lost the weight after the birth of my second child and I was pleased with my body.

Then we became pregnant again. I did not watch what I ate at all and my job required no activity what-so-ever. I gained major amounts of weight and hit the scale at 215 before our third child was born. Almost five months have passed and I still weigh close to 190. Need motivation….

So, here goes AGAIN. I just want to get back to my comfortable weight and feel healthy again.

To the Gym We Go

I am getting ready to head out to the gym.  My only worry is that the littlest monkey (my baby) will give Mr. Potato Head (dh) and hard time while I am gone.  Because I am nursing LM, Mr. Potato Head cannot help him when he gets hungry.  *Mental Note* Need to buy a breast pump*

So, I plan on hitting the treadmill again.  I sure would love to do some weights, but I am being a good girl and waiting until my 6 week “after baby” appointment this Tuesday.  I would hate to hurt myself (I had a C-section).  That would be far from cool.

I feel great after I finish at the gym, however, I avoid mirrors like the plague.  I should be easier on myself, but I have a hard time.  I was a chunky teen and I lost it in my early twenties.  Then I had my oldest monkey and had a lot of weight to lose.  It took me about 5 years to get motivated enough to focus on exercise and diet.  I got down to about 129 (my lowest) and my weight stabilized to 135-140.  I kept the weight off for 3 years and then *happy surprise* got pregnant again.

I enjoyed the weight loss process , believe it or not.  I loved how great I felt about myself when I made goals… I was big into measurements versus scale watching.  I became an avid jogger.  It took forever to get to the fitness level that I attained and I am very disgusted that I let my health GO while I was preggo this time round.  Grrr.

Ten months of not doing anything has really taken a toll on my body and mindset.  Why, oh why, did I become SO lazy while I was pregnant?  I cannot understand what I was thinking.  Ugh

Well, here is to another “journey” of self discovery.  I hope I enjoy the process this time round.

Tired

I have to admit… I am having a hard time imagining that I will lose this pregnancy weight.  I realize that infant monkey (IM) was just born around 5 weeks ago and that I need to be patient.  I suppose I am simply terrified of never losing the 30+ pounds and get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

Not to mention that I am tired…  I just want to sleep.  I feel completely unmotivated.

So, now I can list what I ate today.   Fun stuff.

breakfast:  two eggs, and two slices of whole wheat toast, glass of water

snack:  cup of tea with 2 Splendas and milk

lunch:  I did not eat lunch (not good).  I took a really long nap while the baby snoozed.  Did not wake up until roughly 3:30 pm

snack:  (if you can call it a “snack”)  a stupid doughnut my husband was “kind” enough to tempt me with.

dinner:  three (dear god) slices of really yummy pizza topped with black olives and artichokes.  Water

I am really disappointed with what I ate today.  For one, I am breastfeeding and I need to eat more healthy and diverse foods.  Secondly, ugh…  why did I eat the stupid doughnut and why couldn’t I have had just one slice of pizza and a nice salad and some fruit?

tsk… tsk… tsk…

Well, tomorrow is another day.  Hopefully I will focus on eating better and I will hit the treadmill.

:)
